Pilgrim badge, represents St Nicholas whose shrines at Bari in Italy and at St Nicolas-de-Port in France attracted many pilgrims in the Middle Ages. A stictching loop at the back forms the method of attachment. The head of Saint Nicholas and his right hand, which was undoubtedly raised in benediction, are lost.
