Gilded silver pin-head(?) in the form of a bird head moulded in the round, with a long, hooked beak; sub-triangular eyes with double ribs in front; the head demarcated from the short neck by a transversely ridged band on either side, which appears to have been left ungilded; panels of chip-carved ribbing, two curved ribs along back of neck and a pair of converging ribs across the neck above two ribs marking the base; double chevron on back of neck; oval socket in base for insertion of shank of a pin (?); some of decoration may represent tail, wings, plumage, etc.
