Bowl, porcelain, thrown, thickly potted, decorated with a pattern printed over the glaze in red and painted in pink, yellow, green, grey and blue on a white ground of tulips repeated five times inside the bowl and three times on the outer surface. Gilt line around the foot.

- Curator's comments
- The tulips are purple rather than pink as on the Russian pieces, and the small flower sprays are red, not blue. The Persian inscription differs from that on the matching Russian items. Perhaps a replacement for a piece from the Gardner service made for the Middle Eastern market.
