- Curator's comments
- Made by the Sandvik branch of the Orrefors Glassworks, which specialised in utility glass production. This vase was included in the Orrefors-Sandvik catalogue of 1923, which contains items designed between 1917 and 1923, see H. Ricke and L. Thor, 'Swedish Glass Factories. Production catalogues 1915-1960', Munich 1987, p.281, model no. H47 (the letter 'H' for Edward Hald). According to Ricke and Thor p. 280, numbering began in 1918 with 1, including the Gate and Hald designs; numbers 1-756 correspond to the years 1918-19.
