Quadriptych relief icon; cast and engraved brass; each of the four panels divided into four discrete scenes surmounted by an ogee-arch crest (kokoshnik). From left to right: the Crucifixion; the Annunciation; the Birth of the Mother of God; the Entrance of the Mother of God into the Temple (panel 1); the New Testament Trinity; the Presentation in the Temple; the Baptism; the Transfiguration and the Entry into Jerusalem (panel 2); the Exaltation of the Cross with Saints Constantine and Helena; the Resurrection; the Ascension; Pentecost and the Dormition of the Virgin (panel 3); Praises to the Mother of God; four miracle-working icons of the Virgin flanked by saints: the Tikhvin icon with Saints Alexander and Cyril; the Vladimir icon with Saints Maximus and Basil of Moscow; the Kievan Caves icon with Saints Anthony and Theodosius of the Caves; the icon of the Virgin of the Sign with Saints Anthony the Roman and Leontius of Rostov (panel 4); all scenes identified by Cyrillic inscriptions. On the outside of the second panel, within foliate arch and columns, the Instruments of the Passion.
