- Featured on the cover of General George Pitt-Rivers' "The Riddle of Labarum and the origin of Christian Symbols" (Woking/London 1966). Here it is described as being found in the gallery of an old mansion at Fiddleford, Dorset.

- Purchased through Kenelm Digby Jones on behalf of an anonymous vendor. Found in 1952 in the derelict old hall of Fiddleford, it was passed from General George Pitt-Rivers to his widow Stella who sold it to the vendor. Neither Anthony Pitt-Rivers nor the Dorset County Museum wished to acquire it.
