Vase, colourless and transparent dark red glass, mould-blown, the colourless layer cased in deep red and then cut to produce bold geometric designs of clear circles within red squares; four vertical columns of dark red are cut with three squares further cut with a colourless circle within each square; the columns protrude over the rim to give a castellated appearance; engraved maker's mark.

Dessins et modèles de vases et services', Editions Collections Livres, Brussels 1998, p.166). An example of this vase with green overlay is in the Corning Museum of Glass.
