- Museum number
- 1994,0408.155
- Description
-
Silver lock, partly gilded. A barb-spring padlock, very similar to 1994,0408.154, but with gilding on the face of the case and on the front, visible area of the bolt. Profiled flanges at the top and bottom provide attachment areas for four small rivets. The rivet that is close to the bolt entry, at the top left, has its head hammered flat, while the other three have round heads. The keyhole is located to the upper right side of the lock. The bolt extension is a long tapering bar with a large ring at the top attached to a thick wire eye, which in turn, with another end ring at 90°, engages with the staple that passed through the box lid.
