- Curator's comments
- Modern drill hole in back of loop; the two figures are perhaps Sts Peter and Paul, or Adam and Eve driven from Paradise - cf Cabrol & Leclercq vol 1, cols 511-12, fig 98, and vol 12/2, figs 8971-2 - although the figures on the BM buckle are clothed. It may be further compared with an example from Beneuvre, Côte-d'Or (in private coll; pers. comm. R. Poulain).
