Watch, keywound and with a pin pallet lever escapement.
Signature: On the dial 'YANKEE INGERSOLL'.
Case: A chrome plated case with a ribbed band, a snap on bezel and a hinged back. Not numbered in the case back. A false button, the button and the pendant being in one piece.
Dial and Hands: A white paper on metal dial with black Arabic numerals . A sunk subsidiary seconds dial. The dial retained by three bent over tags. A spade hour hand and minute hand. The hands including the seconds hand are of blued-steel.
Movement: Type 3 numbered 10173171.
Four pillars support the back plate which is secured by screws. The back plate is stamped 'R. H. INGERSOLL & BRO NEW YORK PATENTED APR 11.05 JAN 13.91. DEC.23.90. MADE IN U.S.A.'
The balance stamped H.
Barrel and Mainspring. The barrel is without a cover. The main wheel is soldered to the barrel wall.
Barrel internal diameter 19.5 mm., height 3.8 mm
Mainspring height 4.0 mm., thickness 0.26 mm.
Arbor: diameter 4.3 mm., snailed
Train: Brass wheels with five crossings except for the escape wheel which has four. The pinions are lantern pinions.
Jewels: One jewel set in the balance cock but decorative only.
Escapement: A pin pallet escapement, straight line layout. The pallets and escape wheel of brass, steel pallet pins. A type of double roller. The pins are positioned so that there is equal impulse. The pallets are of the long type made necessary because the layout is full plate and the balance is also between the plates.
Number of teeth embraced 3 ½.
Balance and Spring: A plain nickel plated single arm balance with 6 nibs simulating screws. Balance diam 15.5 mm., thickness 0.8 mm. A flat spiral blued-steel spring with 10 turns, pinned into a long stud which is riveted friction tight so that it can be moved so as to centre the spring. The balance staff with cone pivots. The cone bearing that can be adjusted so as to achieve the correct endshake is on the dial side of the movement.
Means of Regulation. An index on the back plate registering against a divided scale also on the back plate with engraved 'F' and 'S'.

Winding System: Keywound but with a fold down key screwed onto the barrel arbor. The hand set knob is pressed onto the centre arbor which is provided with two flats to prevent the knob from slipping.

Movement diameter 45.5 mm., height 14.5 mm.
