Copper alloy belt plate, tinned.
Claudio-Neronian. A thin rectangular plate, slightly distorted, and broken at one corner and side. Decoration consists of a series of neatly engraved concentric rings and a tinned surface. The side loops, which still retain their iron stiffening pins, have been turned to the front of the plate and have carefully crimped edges. The three remaining corner holes are empty, as is also the central hole, and there is no indication of the size or even former presence of a central stud.
