Figure; limestone; Romanesque; male, bearded and with shoulder-length hair; full-length drapery and holding a book, perhaps an apostle or prophet; severely weathered and broken; breaks between head and shoulders; torso and waist; an area cut flat behind; base circular for a rounded socle; carved to be set against a wall perhaps in a niche; modern cement joints.

- Until the 1930's this figure stood in the garden of Place House, Shepherdswell, Kent; on stylistic grounds, probably from the nearby church of Barfreston, perhaps from one of the niches in the east façade gable.
