Description
Jug; brown and cobalt salt-glazed stoneware baluster jug; pewter mounted domed lid and base mount; neck and body: applied moulded decoration, neck: ornamental frieze with strapwork, with oval medallions with two female face-masks and grotesque lion-mask; body frieze with arcaded panels with full length figures of the Muses, with their inscribed names; on shoulder and lower section: rectangular vertical fluting; inscribed.
