Round shale box with lid.
Turned circular shale box with a raised lid-seating. The sides of the box are very slightly waisted. On the base, the flaking of the surface has revealed part of a fossil impression, an ammonite, while the interior base shows slight turning grooves. The lid is ornamented with turned decoration consisting of concentric ridges and grooves (six ridges).

- Curator's comments
- The only British parallel appears to be from Verulamium, from a context dated AD 350-410+ (Frere 1972, fig. 57, no. 228).
