This is one of a group of inkwells of this form created in 1920, model number 1386 (body) and 1386 bis (lid); it was produced into the 1930s, but was not reintroduced after the Second World War; see Marcilhac, 'F. R. Lalique, catalogue raisonne de I'oeuvre de verrre', Paris 1989, no.434.
