Tile, earthenware, solid red body with white inlay covered with a yellow glaze (now worn); the design features a grotesque bird. On reverse, random holes and yellow painted mark but no backstamp.

- Curator's comments
- The design for this tile was copied from medieval tiles actually at Temple Church. These tiles were probably removed from the Temple Church after bombing in the Second World War. See Stoke 1984, no. 48, for an identical tile with a painted date mark for 1861.
