- Curator's comments
- The design has been attributed to Dresser on stylistic grounds alone. For an example printed in brown but on a white body, see no. 1580 G, sheet 18 in a Minton catalogue of c 1885 (reprinted by Richard Dennis Publications, Shepton Beauchamp, 1996). The design was also noted as no.1518 in a pattern book held in the Minton archive. See also 1980,0307.146 and 1980,0307.68.
