- Curator's comments
- Circular vinaigrettes with pendant loops were sometimes worn on a chatelaine to match a watch of similar shape and size. They could be worn singly on long chains pulled through a belt or sash or on belt-hooks. The pierced cover with a trophy of flaming hearts, arrows and a quiver suggests that this may have been a marriage gift. (Charlotte Gere)
