Watch with a case of chased engine-turned three-colour gold; the dial is set eccentrically beneath a glazed opening in the front cover. There are winding and 'hand-set' holes on the dial-plate with a rectangular enamelled label. The back of the case is decorated with a roundel and an applied gold rose. The movement has a cylinder escapement and a repeater. On the cuvette there is the maker's name, a mark is on the inside cover and the front cover catch is struck and over-struck with an import mark.

- Text from catalogue of the Hull Grundy Gift (Gere et al 1984) no 450:
A number of Geneva watch-makers named Constantin are recorded since 1790; the firm of Roch et Cie was established in 1828; this watch may be the product of a brief unrecorded partnership soon after that date.
According to the HG Master List, Cat. 450 (HG list 525) came with the key which is illustrated with Cat. 470 (HG list 526) - J. Rudoe.
