- Text from catalogue of the Hull Grundy Gift (Gere et al 1984) no. 778:
E.W. Streeter was at this address from 1878-1904, having taken over the premises from H. Emanuel. For other objects by E.W. Streeter see Index. (Charlotte Gere).
The original display case is marked with the blind-stamp “H&B” (Harker & Betteridge, 1869–80). This bracelet was therefore cased before 1880. From advertisements it is known that Streeter charged £1.10/- (£1.50p) for a display case. This bracelet does not feature in Streeter’s 1889 catalogue of machine-made gold jewellery and may be a one-off design. See: the Facsimile Edition of Streeter’s catalogue, 1992, ISBN 0 95 18664 0 0.
