- Text from catalogue of the Hull Grundy Gift (Gere et al) no. 1179:
The maker's mark KF can tentatively be identified as that of Karl Fialla, who is recorded from March 1921 at Gfornergasse 7, Vienna (Neuwirth 1977). The use of white metal, either platinum or white gold, for gem-set jewellery became fashionable in the post-war period, about 1920. (Charlotte Gere).
