Standing-cup and cover; silver-gilt; distinctive form of ornamentation composed of delicate vine-scroll arabesques applied to surface of silver, which is subsequently pounced between the appliqué work.

- Unmarked, but stylistically similar to marked pieces by TvL. Compare cup and cover with rock crystal, unmarked but c1600, from Tong, Shropshire with similar decoration: see Schroder, Treasures of the English Church, Goldsmiths' Hall 2008, p. 53 fig. 52.
Repair of the stem, when it was soldered onto the cup and components of the foot, has damaged the gilding in such a way that delamination is occurring with blistering. This makes it very difficult to remove tarnish on the foot and stem to match the lid.
