- Object: Holcombe Mirror
Copper alloy mirror with engraved decoration on the back, binding around the edge of the plate, and a cast openwork handle. The design on back is engraved in outline and infilled with 'basketry'; double-lyre pattern, lyres side by side sharing a common base, outermost has flanking scrolls attached. The handle and mount are cast, consisting of three loops with transverse collars and ring terminal containing two trumpet scrolls; the mount has a pair of domed studs. The plate of the mirror is only 1 mm thick and binding strip around the edge helped to protect it.
