Description
Bronze applied brooch (backplate) with separate leaded gunmetal vertical rim and mercury gilded (leaded) bronze top plate soldered to the bottom plate; remains of iron pin and spring. Repoussé top plate decoration consists of central boss with depressed middle surrounded by a beaded ring which form the centre of a six-pointed star; around the outer edge is a beaded border with a further raised wave border beyond; textile traces.
