Hoard, found in 1966 in Portfield Camp, a hill-fort near Whalley, about 45 cm below the surface. All objects are worn and broken.
Associated finds: socketed axe of Type Gillespie (1966,1208.4); one gold lock-ring, one penannular gold bracelet with flat body and terminal expanding outward of the Covesea Type; rib-tanged knife or dagger; fragment of a bronze blade; socketed gouge, mouth missing; piece of rough cast bronze consisting of a D-shaped head with a projection extending out of one side.
