- Maker's mark information from Anthony Dove March 2008: It is very unusual to find a maker's mark engraved, only the presence of the pellets suggests it could be a maker's mark as opposed to owner's initials.
Possibly the mark of Edward Elmes London jeweller. Free of the London Goldsmiths' Company 1685, lasr mentioned 1714 ; date of death not recorded.
