- Curator's comments
- Although the hallmark in the case seems to point to 1789, it is impossible to have a watch with a decimal dial at such an early date. However, the alphabetical year-letters were re-introduced in June 1789 (letter A). The letter P would then indicate the year 1805. Therefore, this watch would be one of the latest examples of a decimal dial.
