SILVER AND LEATHER PAIR CASED COACH WATCH WITH QUARTER REPEAT, HOUR STRIKING
AND ALARM WITH KEY AND FOB-SEAL.
Circular gilt-brass plates with four baluster pillars. Gilt-brass barrel with ratchet and click set-up inside front plate; fusee with chain and standard stop-work. Four-wheel going train terminating with a verge escapement.
Brass balance with five spokes; spiral balance spring with geared regulator; gilt-brass index engraved IX - II. Pierced foliate balance bridge.
Quarter-repeat mechanism operated by pull-cord.
Rack-striking, for hours only, powered by a fixed barrel with engraved decoration on the visible side. A slide in the dial between VIII and IX o'clock operates a strike/silent mechanism.
DIAL & HANDS
White enamel dial, around the outside a circle 5-60 for minutes surrounding Roman hours I-XII. Gilt-brass alarm-setting disc engraved 1-12. Pierced scroll gilt-brass hands.
Silver and leather pair-cases. Silver inner case pierced around the bezel and band. Inside the case a series of punched marks.
Black leather-covered brass outer with silver rims and silver piqué decoration; around the bezel and band a series of pierced roundels. With a separate hinged cover to reveal the dial without opening the case.
On a length of twisted silk cord, a brass winding key and steel fob-seal.
