SILVER CASED VERGE COACH WATCH WITH QUARTER REPEAT AND ALARM.

MOVEMENT
Circular gilt-brass plates with four square pillars each with an applied pierced silver scrolled ornament. Gilt-brass barrel with ratchet and click set-up beneath the front-plate. Fusee with chain and standard stop-work, the block also with a pierced silver scrolled panel en-suite with the pillars. Four-wheel going train of gilt-brass wheels terminating with a verge escapement. Brass three-arm balance with spiral balance-spring and geared regulator, the brass index disc engraved 1-6. Pierced foliate balance cock with a scroll motif at the junction.

Alarm train driven by a fixed barrel and with with steel contrate and crown wheels. Quarter repeat mechanism operated by a pull-cord, the train also driven by a fixed barrel

DIAL & HANDS
Gilt-brass dial-plate with a white enamel chapter-ring with an outer circle for minutes numbered 0-60 surrounding Roman hours I-XII with an inner circle for the quarters. At the centre, a white enamel alarm setting disc with hours 1-12 around a quarters circle. Blued-steel hands.

CASE
Silver case with hinged glazed bezel and silver pendant with a swivel joint. The band and bezel are pierced and engraved with foliate panels. Inside the back, a bell screwed to a square boss.

Enamel dial.
Silver chaise; pierced and engraved.

2 (1993) At the moment, no way can been seen to remove the dial from the movement. [DT.5/93] The watch has been dropped, causing a dent in the case at I0-II o'clock and distortion to to inner case bezel.
