GOLD AND PAINTED ENAMEL CASED VERGE WATCH.
CASE:
Gold case with hinged lid. The back, band and outside lid are all decorated with polychrome painted enamel realistic flowers on a black ground. The inside of the lid has a similar border which surrounds a central landscape with a church and river, and a man playing a pipe before two sheep. The interior of the case has a black border beneath the rim surrounding a design of polychrome painted enamel realistic flowers on a white ground. Gold pendant enamelled around the stem.
DIAL & HAND:
Within a gadrooned border engraved around the pillar-plate, a pinned-on gold dial. Roman hours I-XII and fleur-de-lys half-hour marks surrounding a quarter-circle. The dial centre decorated with polychrome painted enamel realistic flowers over a black ground. Hand missing.
MOVEMENT FRAME:
Circular gilt-brass plates with four pierced Egyptian pillars. Potence-hole in the pillar-plate. Riveted potence and riveted counter-potence, the potence replaced. Engraved decoration around around the verge aperture.

MAINSPRING & SET-UP:
Gilt-brass barrel with dovetailed cap and riveted steel hook. Tangent-screw set-up on the potence-plate, the brass wheel replaced.
FUSEE & STOP-WORK:
Gilt-brass fusee with gut line and English stop-work. The spring with scrolled foot.
TRAIN:
Three wheel train of gilt-brass wheels, the second and contrate with three crossings.
ESCAPEMENT & BALANCE:
Verge escapement, the crown wheel, verge and balance all replaced.
Pierced and engraved foliate balance cock pinned to a stud on the
potence-plate.
