Watch with a pin pallet lever escapement.
Signature: On the dial 'TYPHOON'
Case: A round nickel plated case with a snap on back.
Dial & Hands: A thin aluminium dial with black Arabic numerals and minute circle. Blued-steel hands.
The dial secured with two screws one at 3 and the other at 9 o'clock.
Ebauche Marks. On the inside of the front plate is stamped 'S'.
Frame: A round movement with thin nickel silver plates, the back plate supported by four pillars and the keyless frame. A ¾ plate layout with a cock for the pallets and one for the balance.
Barrel and Mainspring:
The going barrel is two part with a cup shaped steel bottom with four lugs that press into the mainwheel. The cover has a slipping minute wheel mounted on it. Barrel internal diameter 24 mm., height 2.3 mm.
Mainspring: height 2.2 mm, thickness 0.25 mm.
Barrel Arbor: diameter 5.6 mm., snailed.
Hooking: A tongue punched in from the barrel wall.
Train: The brass wheels are not gilded, the second wheel, and third wheel with five crossings. The escape wheel with four.
Jewelling: No jewelled bearings.
Escapement: An obtuse angle layout pin pallet lever escapement with a long lever, effectively a double roller and brass impulse finger. Steel pins in the brass lever.
An equidistant locking escapement.
No. of teeth embraced 3½.
Balance & Spring: a three armed brass balance. Balance diameter 15.7 mm, thickness 0.6 mm. A phosphor bronze flat spiral spring with 9 turns. The balance with cone pivots. Surprisingly neither of the cups that these pivots run in are adjustable for endshake.
Means of Regulation: An index on the balance cock, no registering scale or other marks.
