Watch with a pin pallet lever escapement
Case: A nickel silver open face case with a double back hinged at 6 o'clock.
Dial and Hands: A slightly domed dial with bold black Roman numerals and a black minute ring. A subsidiary seconds dial The hands blued steel with the minute and hour of spade design. On the back of the dial in the counter enamel in white outlined in black is 'A J'.
Movement: Numbered 37840
Ebauche Marks: none.
Frame: The back plate is supported by three pillars and secured by screws. It covers the train, as far as the fourth wheel, the barrel and the keyless work. Cocks for the escape wheel, pallets and balance. On the barrel ratchet wheel cover bridge is the following: 'REPASSE EN SEGOND REPASSEDODE SEGUNDO MANO'. The front plate is split between the escape wheel and pallets and a screw can close or open this slit so as to adjust the depth of the escapement. A brass block for the keyless work.
Barrel and Mainspring: The going barrel has a brass cover on which is mounted the minute wheel so that it can slip. Barrel inside diameter 23.1 mm., inside height 2.7 mm
Mainspring height 2.65 mm thickness 0.25 mm
Arbor: Diameter 6.1 mm., snailed
Train: The brass wheels are not gilded and have five crossings.
Jewelled: At the escape wheel and pallets on the back only, and an endstone on the balance cock.
Escapement: A pin pallet escapement, obtuse angle layout, long lever with a brass impulse finger. A steel lever with steel impulse pins and a brass dart. A steel escape wheel with four crossings.
Number of teeth embraced 4 ½.
Balance and Spring: A rounded rim monometallic three arm balance. Balance diameter 16.1 mm., thickness 0.8 mm.
The flat spiral blued steel spring with 12 ½ turns
Means of Regulation: An index on the balance cock with a divided scale and 'A R' engraved on the cock.
