Movement of a rack lever watch.
Signature: 'D Northgraves HULL 7528 by L & Co ' on the barrel bridge.

Movement:
Ebauche marks: None but the front plate is scratched 'HH 11/15', probably a repair mark.
Frame: A full plate layout the back plate supported by four turned pillars; one of these has been relieved to clear the fusee chain. A typical Liverpool balance cock inscribed 'PATENT' in a scroll on the table. An escapement protection pin is fitted to the inside of the back plate.

Hooking: originally oval but now round.
Train: Gilded wheels, the centre wheel solid, the third and escape wheels with four crossings. The centre wheel scratched '12/90', the third wheel '6/90'. The centre wheel teeth have been bevelled on the upper face.
Jewelled: Jewelled bearings for the balance pivots only with a ruby endstone in a wedge in the potence and a diamond endstone in the balance cock.
Escapement: An acute-angle layout rack lever escapement with two-way slides. The enclosed pallet jewels have flat acting faces. One banking pin has been replanted. Gilt-brass escape wheel with four crossings.
No of teeth embraced 3 1/2
Balance & Spring: A flat-rimmed, polished steel three-arm balance (the top pivot broken) diameter 20.8 mm, thickness 0.5 mm. The blued-steel flat spiral balance spring with 12 turns is not original.
Means of Regulation: A Bosley regulator registering against a divided scale with 'Slow' and 'Fast' engraved on the back plate.
