Fan-shaped shelf clock for use over a window or door.
Half-round mahogany case with a hinged glazed front door with moulded bezel.
Spring-driven, eight-day movement with fusees, verge escapement and pendulum.
Half-hour striking, on two bells, the higher bell for the half hour and the low bell at the hour.
A repeat lever releases the striking train.
Semi-circular painted dial with Roman hours VI - VI. A calendar aperture in the lower part and below XII a hand setting dial.
The middle of the dial has a painted pastoral scene with cowherd, cattle and a river/canal.
Fly-back hour and minute hands.

- The Ilbert Collection of clocks, prints and other related material was destined to be sold at Christie's auction house on 6th-7th November 1958. As a result of the generous donation of funds by Gilbert Edgar CBE the sale was cancelled and the material purchased privately from the beneficiaries of the Ilbert Estate.NL1Ilbert's watches were then acquired with further funds from Gilbert Edgar CBE, public donations and government funds. These were then registered in the series 1958,1201.
