Long-case clock; three-month hour-strike movement with bolt and shutter maintaining power; arched dial with silvered-metal chapter-ring; ormolu spandrel panels pierced and chased with winged cupids' masks and scrolling flower sprays; arched upper part engraved with crowned effigy of Queen Anne and scrolling foliage; ebonised architectural case with moulded borders to panels; hood with turned and rectangular columns in relief with metal-gilt capitals and bases; surmounted by double arched pediment with moulded borders; inset with metal-gilt plaque repoussé with basket of flowers, festoons and scrolls on brown velvet ground; glass pendulum aperture; interior of door with printed equation table.

- The Ilbert Collection of clocks, prints and other related material was destined to be sold at Christie's auction house on 6th-7th November 1958. As a result of the generous donation of funds by Gilbert Edgar CBE the sale was cancelled and the material purchased privately from the beneficiaries of the Ilbert Estate.NL1Ilbert's watches were then acquired with further funds from Gilbert Edgar CBE, public donations and government funds. These were then registered in the series 1958,1201.
