Bracket clock; eight-day three train musical movement playing two tunes on nine bells ("Bright Aurelia" and "Gay Kinde and Airy"); silvered-metal chapter-ring; dial decorated with Turkish numerals; surround with chased ormolu plaques and scrolling foliage and calendar aperture; green lacquer case gilt with scrolling stems and drapery to arched and domed hood with four metal-gilt acorn finials.

- Curator's comments
- The case of this clock is of poor quality and shows evidence of alteration. Inside the door the mask has been altered to fit the present dial shape but that then does not match the door arch. These aspects point to the case being married to the movement and dial. The poor quality of the case and its lack of any detailed mouldings suggests that it was not made by a professional London casemaker.

- The Ilbert Collection of clocks, prints and other related material was destined to be sold at Christie's auction house on 6th-7th November 1958. As a result of the generous donation of funds by Gilbert Edgar CBE the sale was cancelled and the material purchased privately from the beneficiaries of the Ilbert Estate.NL1Ilbert's watches were then acquired with further funds from Gilbert Edgar CBE, public donations and government funds. These were then registered in the series 1958,1201.
