Homing pigeon clock.
Brass cylindrical case with glazed bezel at the front and a removable drum at the back. Six brass riveted feet and a riveted brass carrying handle.
Silvered brass dial plate with three subsidiary upper dials calibrated 0-24 and a central dial with minute circle and hours 1-12. Gold hands.
Ebonised wooden box.

- The mechanism in this clock is related to a patent number 24,905 granted to Alexander Turner on the 1st of December 1905 which itself was derived from patent 1886 granted in 1903.

- The Ilbert Collection of clocks, prints and other related material was destined to be sold at Christie's auction house on 6th-7th November 1958. As a result of the generous donation of funds by Gilbert Edgar CBE the sale was cancelled and the material purchased privately from the beneficiaries of the Ilbert Estate.NL1Ilbert's watches were then acquired with further funds from Gilbert Edgar CBE, public donations and government funds. These were then registered in the series 1958,1201.
