Description
Silver flanged bowl with beaded rim (77 beads in total) and circular foot-ring. The basal medallion and flange are decororated, as are the interior walls, with a series of tight 'S' flutings. The central medallion bears a 16-petal floral device inside a double encircling border of pellets. The flange is decorated with a continuous frieze of undulating vine scroll, forming cells that are infilled with floral, vineal and zoomorphic motifs. On the inner edge of the rim, and the outer edge inside the beads, are friezes of tightly braided guilloche, the inner rotating anti-clockwise, the outer clockwise. The vine scroll can be divided in to four sections by rosettes.
