- Description

Plaster replica of burr-wood cup or small bottle, with original silver-gilt rim. The rim consists of three rectangular panels decorated with the same repoussé zoomorphic design comprising eight compact animals, each with one hind leg, three toes and a curved head. The animals' bodies and feet face left and their heads right. The design is enclosed within a beaded border on all four sides.
The three rectangular panels were attached to the rim by three grooved strips, forming clips which extend from the exterior into the interior of the vessel. Each clip has a thick central groove through which two rivets pass. A series of rivets attaches the base of each rectangular panel to the body of the vessel.
