- According to acquisition register, this was 'Obtained in 1888 in the Hittedal district of Norway. Once ecclesiastical property, but alienated in the Reformations, when it passed into the possession of a sexton, the forbear of the man from whom it was obtained by Mrs Bright (from manuscript note by donor).'
The donor lived in Norway from 1887-90, see 1941,1006.1-3.
