- Curator's comments
- This coffee-cup was probably made at the Vauxhall porcelain factory based at the Glasshouse Street Works, in Vauxhall, South London, when operated by the potter John Sanders (or from 1758, his heir William Sanders) and the merchant/entrepreneur Nicholas Crisp, between 1751 and 1764. It was, however, apparently found on the Lowestoft porcelain factory site.
