Ivory, carved, painted in red and green and gilt with the Resurrection; in the centre is Christ, holding a staff, rising from the tomb surrounded by five soldiers; wooden frame.

- Curator's comments
- Holly Trusted from the VAM notes that the frame may well be original but that the relief may also have been repainted. One figure on right is now missing, perhaps an angel as on left. The cloud scrolls under heavy repaint look Chinese see Chinese-Philippines carving of Virgin and Child in Bailey, Massing and Silva, Portuguese empire ivories, Lisbon 2013, p. 245. Frame is liikely to be the original rippling ebony, copying Flemish prototypes as in the case of the ivories.
