Painted Limoges enamel plaque; copper, rectangular; mounted in gilt metal frame; The Return of the Prodigal Son; elderly bearded man bends down to greet his son; to left a group of five men; to right two men; painted in grisaille and translucent enamels over coloured foils; details of face drawn in black, reversed and brought out by enlevage or painted on the foils; highlights in gilding; counter enamel multi-coloured flux.
