"Provenance:
Martynivka (formerly Martynovka), Kanev raj., Kiev [now Kyiv] obl., Ukraine; registration nos. 1912,0610.1-22 part of a group of some 115 surviving silver items found in obscure circumstances during agricultural work, c.1907 and before 1909 (and not in 1911 as stated in ANNUAL RETURN. Return to an Order of the Honourable the House of Commons for Account 'of the Income and Expenditure of the British Museum for the Year 1912', printed by Hansard. London, p. 80, based on MS letter from vendor, 30.1.1912); part was lost, part gradually acquired between 1909 and 1914 in four separate packets by (now) Gosudarstvennoi Istoricheski Museum [now National Museum of the History of Ukraine, Kyiv].
