Copper alloy buckle: circular loop; profiled zoomorphic tongue with double groove across base; oval plate in two pieces folded around loop with back-plate and with one (of three?) attachment rivets remaining.

- Comment from Kidd, Haith & Ager 'Summary catalogue' (draft MS) :Provenances are given in MS letter, 18.3.1910; what was purchased was only part of a larger group on offer, and many of the old numbers in correspondence cannot now be correlated with their relevant groups; the vendor in a MS letter claims himself to have excavated the grave groups (to Hercules Read, 29.5.1910)
