Jug; earthenware; lead-glazed; pewter mounts on handle and round foot; dark brown colour; painted on main body in front in matt red and gilt, with triple shield of arms flanked by two rampant lions and surmounted by crown; below hangs pendant Greek cross; three shields: oval shaped, two quartered with small shield in centre, left-hand shield with two lions rampant in right-hand quarter; painted design on lower oval shield; globular body; tall neck expanded out and pinched to form lip; short spreading foot; two horizontal bands of dots and dashes round foot and lower neck; base unglazed; pewter mounted broken on top of handle; over-painted red and gilt substantially rubbed away in places; monogram on side of main body surmounted by crown.
