Found during excavations for Lockwood Reservoir, Higham Hill, Walthamstow, see also 1905,0114.2 and 1905,0114.1 For the site, see Hatley 1933. Bradford and Goodchild 1939:14, pl. Vd, illustrate this scabbard with the sword 1905,0114.1, but there seems to be no evidence that the two belong together. Certainly there is no damage to the scabbard to correspond with the deep cut in the sword. Piggott 1950:26 (Group II).
