Bronze strap-end. The strap-end is bent and slightly pitted with corrosion. Pendant between the two rivet-holes is a plant with four leaves arranged fan-wise. At the terminal is an animal head seen from above; on the snout (which is slightly faceted) is a cross patée, while a feather pattern of scratched lines can be seen on the forehead. The ears are oval and have lunate openings. The ornament in the central field, which is defined by a plain border, consists of two pairs of symmetrically opposed animals whose bodies and limbs degenerate into symmetrical interlace. At the top of the field, on either side, is an animal head with rounded crown, beaded eye and squared, short snout, open mouth and the suspicion of a tongue. Below and behind each of these heads is a smaller edition of the same head, the lower jaw of which crosses the neck of the larger animal and the lower jaw of its opposite number in the centre of the field, where it is surrounded by a heart-shaped ribbon. The amorphous bodies of these animals degenerate into interlace. The background is hatched in a basketry pattern. The back of the object is plain and the remains of an iron rivet can be seen in one of the rivet-holes.
