Tinned-copper alloy belt back plate: cast; square; incised billeted, fret and zigzag borders around outlined central cross in square panel with outlined diagonal groove in each corner; only one of four domed-head pseudo-rivets at corners remains; attachment lugs at back.

Ex collection Darly of Amiens; in view of the richness of this Merovingian material it seems likely that this [1891,1019.1 to 73] is a collection from the general neighbourhood, rather than from a single cemetery in the town itself.
