Casket; wood; sides and lid covered with embossed bronze sheeting; rectangular sides of lid sloping; decorated with square panels enclosing scenes of lady and kneeling knight repeating in threes; below: repeating legend in Lombardic lettering; curved handle on top with four zoomorphic terminals; single lock in front. The interior is lined with cloth.

- The Metalwork department at the V&A has two similar caskets. The registration numbers of these are M.228-1925 and 71:1&2-1873. The latter has been heavily restored. More information on these is in the object file.
